Polk County, Wisconsin

Polk County is a county in northwestern Wisconsin. It was named for James Polk, the 11th president.

The county seat is Balsam Lake. The largest city is Amery. It is located along the St. Croix River.

It borders Burnett, Barron, Dunn and St. Croix Counties in Wisconsin, and Washington and Chisago County in Minnesota.

Major highways include US-8, US-63, WI-35 and WI-87.
